My Dad Experience

You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance. ~Franklin P. Jones
===============
It was dinner time at home, Micah did not like the food in front of her...
She screamed so loud that the whole compound heard her angelic voice, people started to go in.
Asking what had happened, my aunt told me to calm her down.
I tried so much, (i guess too much) to do so, so I had to call her mom.
There are times that I forget to keep things simple.
All she needed was time to get her appetite back.
I let her "vent" out, and play a little. And as for me, I needed my finance's voice, i needed her to calm me down, besides Micah, Mau is the only person who can do that...
Just like any mom, she told me what she does best, how to nurture her child.
It doesn't mean that I don't know how to, this was the first time actually that I didn't know what to do. I was angry because it never took me too much time to feed my daughter.
My patience was tested like never before.
I've been scolded at, back-stabbed, forced to do things that are beyond my limits, but man I tell ya! Having a kid is harder than it looks.
But like the saying goes, it's a good thing you're hurting, it means you're alive...
Where am I getting at?
well, its simple..
That night with Micah was an eye-opener. If we would listen to our kids, we'd discover that they are largely self-explanatory. She reminded me to live.
I brought her into this dark world because, OUR world needed the light that only she can bring.
And that night ended with these words followed by a kiss and a hug, that melted my heart...
Micah: Papaaa....Sorry po! Tigas ulo ko! (Papa, I'm sorry for being hard-headed)
(and she just turned 3 last week)

Footnote:
Eventually, she ate dinner, my Grandma made her famous "Arrozcaldo" which she loved.
Arrozcaldo literally translates to "hot rice" and this was one of my favorite dishes growing up. It is a type of rice porridge that is eaten in many Asian countries, made by prolonged boiling of rice in copious water, with flavorings and boiled chicken.
